About QRGen

QRGen is a small, free web tool that turns a link, a line of text, or a Wi-Fi login into a QR code you can download and use anywhere — menus, posters, packaging, shop windows, rental welcome books, and screens of every size.

How it works

A QR code stores information as a pattern of dark and light squares. When you type into QRGen, your browser draws that pattern for you on the spot and offers it as a PNG image in your choice of size and colors. The codes are static: the information is encoded in the pattern itself, not held on a server. That means there is nothing between the scanner and your content, no scan limits, and nothing that can expire or be switched off later.

Private by design

Generation happens entirely in your web browser. Nothing you type — not your links, not your Wi-Fi password — is uploaded to a server, saved in a database, or tracked. There are no accounts and nothing to install; close the tab and your input is gone.

What it costs

Nothing. QRGen is free to use with no limits on how many codes you create or download. The site is supported by advertising, which keeps the tool free for everyone.

Independence

QRGen is an independent tool. "QR Code" is a registered trademark of Denso Wave Incorporated, the company that invented the format; this site is not affiliated with or endorsed by Denso Wave.
